When you order a poem, you don’t need to know exactly what you want. You can:

• describe something challenging you are going through

• share a question, curiosity, or uncertainty

• name a grief, joy, or moment you can’t quite put into words

• ask for solace or perspective

• ask for a gift for a loved one

• or simply share where you are in life and whatever is on your mind.

Of course, you can also ask for a specific topic or theme.

Whatever you share, I will take what you offer and write a poem in response, listening for what’s beneath the words as much as what’s on the surface. Each poem is typewritten and mailed to you as a physical object: something you can hold, return to, and live with. My hope is that your poem will help you return to yourself and the world—more present and more ready to meet life with your whole heart.
